Modern psychology is finally discovering what God revealed thousands of years ago: people were created for loving relationships and healthy families.

The Deepest Human Need Is Belonging
People Don't Simply Survive on Food...They Flourish Through Love
God designed us to flourish spiritually in a spiritual family, not in isolation
Psalm 92:12 The righteous shall flourish like a palm tree, He shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon. 13 Those who are planted in the house of the Lord shall flourish in the courts of our God. New King James Version
Psalm 100:4 Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name. 5 For the Lord is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations. New International Version
Acts 2:46 Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, 47 praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved. New International Version

God Designed Us to Grow in a Spiritual Family
Ephesians 4:11 Now these are the gifts Christ gave to the church: the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, and the pastors and teachers. New Living Translation
Ephesians 4:12 Their responsibility is to equip God’s people to do his work and build up the church, the body of Christ. New Living Translation
Ephesians 4:16 He makes the whole body fit together perfectly. As each part does its own special work, it helps the other parts grow, so that the whole body is healthy and growing and full of love. New Living Translation
“The church grows as every believer becomes a channel through which God's grace flows.” Edmund Clowney, former president of Westminster Theological Seminary
1 Peter 4:8 And above all things have fervent love for one another, for “love will cover a multitude of sins.” 9 Be hospitable to one another without grumbling. New King James Version
1 Peter 4:10 As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold (multi-faceted, diverse) grace of God. New King James Version
1 Peter 4:11 If anyone speaks, let him speak as the oracles of God. If anyone ministers, let him do it as with the ability which God supplies, that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belong the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen. New King James Version
Peter groups all spiritual gifts into two categories: speaking gifts and serving gifts. Some believers build up the body by teaching, encouraging, evangelizing, etc. Others build up the body by serving, showing mercy, giving, leading, extending hospitality, and meeting other practical needs.
