Every generation has had its prophecy charts, timelines, signs, and its predictions. But Jesus never told us to predict His coming, He told us to prepare for His coming.
Matthew 24:36 “But about that day or hour [Second Coming] no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. 37 As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man.” New International Version
Matthew 24:38 “For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark; 39 and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away. That is how it will be at the coming of the Son of Man.” New International Version
Matthew 24:40 “Two men will be in the field; one will be taken and the other left. 41 Two women will be grinding with a hand mill; one will be taken and the other left.” New International Version
Matthew 24:42 “Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come.” New International Version
2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise [His Return], as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance. New International Version
2 Peter 3:10 But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything done in it will be laid bare. New International Version
2 Peter 3:11 Since everything will be destroyed in this way, what kind of people ought you to be? You ought to live holy and godly lives New International Version
2 Peter 3:14 So then, dear friends, since you are looking forward to this, make every effort to be found spotless, blameless and at peace with him. New International Version
When King Jesus Returns, All His Saints Will Return With Him
Jude 1:14 Now Enoch, the seventh from Adam, prophesied about these men also, saying, “Behold, the Lord comes with ten thousands [Greek: myriads upon myriads] of His saints.” New King James Version
Jude 1:15 “…to execute judgment on all, to convict all who are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have committed in an ungodly way, and of all the harsh things which ungodly sinners have spoken against Him.” New King James Version
Revelation 19:11 I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. With justice he judges and wages war. New International Version
Revelation 19:12 His eyes are like blazing fire, and on his head are many crowns. He has a name written on him that no one knows but he himself. 13 He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and his name is the Word of God. New International Version
Revelation 19:14 The armies of heaven were following him, riding on white horses and dressed in fine linen, white and clean. New International Version
Revelation 19:15 Coming out of his mouth is a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations. “He will rule them with an iron scepter.” He treads the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God Almighty. 16 On his robe and on his thigh he has this name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS. New International Version
When King Jesus Returns, What Will Life in His Kingdom Be Like?
Isaiah 11:6 The wolf will live with the lamb, the leopard will lie down with the goat, the calf and the lion and the yearling together; and a little child will lead them. New International Version
Isaiah 11:7 The cow will feed with the bear, their young will lie down together, and the lion will eat straw like the ox. 8 The infant will play near the cobra’s den, and the young child will put its hand into the viper’s nest. New International Version
Zechariah 14:16 Then the survivors from all the nations that have attacked Jerusalem will go up year after year to worship the King, the Lord Almighty, and to celebrate the Festival of Tabernacles [Also called: Feast of Booths and Ingathering]. New International Version
The Feast of Tabernacles looked backward to God's faithfulness in the wilderness, but it also looked forward to His faithfulness in His Eternal Kingdom. It celebrated His provision, His protection, His presence, and the final harvest. When King Jesus returns, every one of those pictures becomes reality.
