#1 SERVING IS A STEWARDSHIP ISSUE

 

1 Peter 4:10 As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God's varied grace... English Standard Version

 

1 Chronicles 15:15 And the Levites carried the ark of God with the poles on their shoulders, as Moses had commanded in accordance with the word of the Lord...” 22 Kenaniah the head Levite was in charge of the singing; that was his responsibility because he was skillful at it. #2 GOD MADE YOU TO SERVE IN YOUR STYLE

 

1 Peter 4:11 …whoever speaks, as one who speaks oracles of God; whoever serves, as one who serves by the strength that God supplies—in order that in everything God may be glorified through Jesus Christ… English Standard Version

 

Exodus 31:1 Then the Lord said to Moses, 2 “See, I have chosen Bezalel son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah, and I have filled him with the Spirit of God, with wisdom, with understanding, with knowledge and with all kinds of skills to make artistic designs for work in gold, silver and bronze, to cut and set stones, to work in wood, and to engage in all kinds of crafts.” New International Version

#3 SERVING SUSTAINS US

 

John 4:31 Meanwhile his disciples urged him,  “Rabbi, eat something.” 32 But he said to them, “I have food to eat that you know nothing about.”33 Then his disciples said to each other, “Could someone have brought him food?” 34My food,” said Jesus, “is to do the will of him who sent me and to finish his work.” New International Version

 

#4 SERVE OUT OF SABBATH

 

Run. Rest. Repeat.

 

#5 SERVE A GREATER PURPOSE

 

2 Kings 3:11 But Jehoshaphat said, Is there no prophet of the Lord hereby whom we may inquire of the Lord? One of the king of Israel’s servants answered, Elisha son of Shaphat, who served Elijah, is here. Amplified Bible, Classic Edition

 

#6 SERVING IS A MARK OF MATURITY

 

John 13:3-6 Jesus knew that the Father had put him in complete charge of everything, that he came from God and was on his way back to God. So he got up from the supper table, set aside his robe, and put on an apron. Then he poured water into a basin and began to wash the feet of the disciples, drying them with his apron. When he got to Simon Peter, Peter said, “Master, you wash my feet?”The Message
