Lesson 2: Make Room for Miracles

August 14, 2022

A miracle is when God intervenes and there is no earthly explanation other than it had to be God

As long as there’s a God, there can be a miracle

Matthew 19:26 But Jesus looked at them and said to them, “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” New King James Version

We make room for miracles by expecting miracles

1 Corinthians 14:1 Follow the way of love and eagerly desire gifts of the Spirit, especially prophecy. New International Version

2 Kings 4:5 She left him and shut the door behind her and her sons. They brought the jars to her and she kept pouring. New International Version

2 Kings 4:6 When all the jars were full, she said to her son, “Bring me another one.” But he replied, “There is not a jar left.” Then the oil stopped flowingNew International Version

2 Kings 4:7 She went and told the man of God, and he said, “Go, sell the oil and pay your debts. You and your sons can live on what is left.” New International Version

We make room for miracles by connecting with the promise

Luke 1:35 And the angel answered and said to her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you; therefore, also, that Holy One who is to be born will be called the Son of God. 37 For with God nothing will be impossible.” New King James Version

Luke 1:38 Then Mary said, “Behold the maidservant of the Lord! Let it be to me according to your word.” And the angel departed from her. New King James Version

Mark 5:25 Now a certain woman had a flow of blood for twelve years, 26 and had suffered many things from many physicians. She had spent all that she had and was no better, but rather grew worse. 27 When she heard about Jesus, she came behind Him in the crowd and touched His garmentNew King James Version

Mark 5:28 For she said, “If only I may touch His clothes, I shall be made well.” 29 Immediately the fountain of her blood was dried up, and she felt in her body that she was healed of the affliction. New King James Version

Mark 5:30 And Jesus, immediately knowing in Himself that power had gone out of Him, turned around in the crowd and said, “Who touched My clothes?” 31 But His disciples said to Him, “You see the multitude thronging You, and You say, ‘Who touched Me?’” New King James Version

Mark 5:32 And He looked around to see her who had done this thing. 33 But the woman, fearing and trembling, knowing what had happened to her, came and fell down before Him and told Him the whole truthNew King James Version

Mark 5:34 And He said to her, “Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace, and be healed of your affliction.” New King James Version

We make room for unexpected miracles by making a room for God

Ephesians 3:20 Now glory be to God, who by his mighty power at work within us is able to do far more than we would ever dare to ask or even dream of—infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts, or hopes. 21 May he be given glory forever and ever through endless ages because of his master plan of salvation for the Church through Jesus Christ. Living Bible

2 Kings 4:8 One day Elisha went to Shunem. And a well-to-do woman was there, who urged him to stay for a meal. So whenever he came by, he stopped there to eat. She said to her husband, “I know that this man who often comes our way is a holy man of God. New International Version

2 Kings 4:10 Let’s make a small room on the roof and put in it a bed and a table, a chair and a lamp for him. Then he can stay there whenever he comes to us.” New International Version

2 Kings 4:14 What can be done for her?” Elisha asked. Gehazi said, “She has no son, and her husband is old.” New International Version

2 Kings 4:15 Then Elisha said, “Call her.” So he called her, and she stood in the doorway. 16 “About this time next year,” Elisha said, “you will hold a son in your arms.” “No, my lord!” she objected. “Please, man of God, don’t mislead your servant!” New International Version

2 Kings 4:17 But the woman became pregnant, and the next year about that same time she gave birth to a son, just as Elisha had told her. New International Version
